I took guitar lessons from Mostai for about 7 months to prepare for college jazz auditions. He was well-versed in all genres and was able to instruct me in whatever direction I wanted. I came to him having learned much of music theory online through Youtube videos. He was able to direct what I had already learned and show me how to apply it in the right way. In addition, he showed me new theory but always demonstrated it in the context of a song. During those 7 months, my chord vocabulary, knowledge of scales and complex harmony, and technique all drastically improved. I wouldn’t have gotten into the music colleges I did without his help.
